About Little Pine:
From winged seed to towering tree, readers witness the growth of this perennial favorite as it transforms from an unsure young sapling into a strong and confident steward of the forest, learning about friendship and family along the way. Little Pine is a picture book aimed at children ages 4 to 8, but meant for anyone. It's about being different. It's about belonging. Full of rich, stunning pastel illustrations, Little Pine is a first-time collaboration between the author and illustrator, who've known each other for over 50 years.
About E.A. Glaspie:
A native of Massachusetts, E. A. Glaspie fondly recalls riding the Swan Boats on visits to Boston, reading about a fictional family of ducklings that lived there, and generally being exposed to the natural world throughout her childhood. The seeds of respect for nature that were planted during those years matured, alongside a love of playing with words. After a nearly eight-year absence, she was drawn back to New England--Vermont, specifically--where she's lived since 1998. She is happiest when paddling quiet water in her kayak or ballroom dancing with her husband. Cats are her favorite thing in the world, with hummingbirds a close second.
